[NAC] Wave 4 HW19 (9835408680) from OPEL GRANDLAND X A18 to Peugeot 308 T9

  • Hello,

    I bought a NAC Wave 4 HW19 (9835408680) from OPEL GRANDLAND X A18 (I found it at a good price) to install it on a Peugeot 308 T9 2015.

I managed to telecode it using Arduino and the software from Vlud, but without it being installed in the car. I used arduino-psa-diag-low-speed-bench. The update went normally. I updated it to the latest available version from 2023.

But after a lot of reading on the subject and especially what Ludwig wrote that there are hardware differences in the CAN protocol between Peugeot and Opel, there is a possibility of unstable operation if installed in the car.

Has anyone done it with a similar NAC from another car brand (In this case Opel) and what are the results? Or should I look for Peugeot or Citroen.

Also, if I have to buy another NAC Wave 4 HW19 with dab, can the models that are HD (there are more for sale and at better prices) be made to work with a non-HD display, like the Peugeot 308 T9, without too much difficulty. I saw here on the forum that this would be possible and if there is any know-how I would buy one to experiment with.

I am not doing this for commercial purposes.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I bought a NAC Wave 4 SD from Opel Corsa and installed it in a 2020 Peugeot 2008 with a 7" SD screen. Everything works fine except for some color artifacts in the Apple CarPlay music player. It seems like the system thinks I have a display with a higher color bitrate. Even sensor buttons around display and navigation on 3D i-cockpit works. What multimedia system is currently installed in your car?

  • The current one has SMEG installed.

I have purchased the necessary cables to be able to make a transition between the different types of connectors.

I will also have to change the display. The new one I bought is 98 284 769 80 (DGT7CFF) (The power connector has 3 cables (Not the LVDS cable). Yellow-green ground, and the blue cable is +12V. ) . I currently have it all wired up on the workbench and am using the arduino to emulate that there is a BSI module connected.

For me, the touch buttons do not work in this experimental setup. I can't switch to navigation for example or media player, but I'm not sure if the problem is that I'm using emulation. The touch screen works normally.

And for me, the display doesn't show well before I installed the calibration file for Peugeot (I think I used this file 308_T9_WAVE4-9693019180.cal (Custom)).

As well as the file 308_T9_WAVE4.nac (Wave4 - Custom).

How many bits of color did you configure the display for? I think it was menu 2129 through the PSA-Arduino-NAC.exe

What is the PSA number that you purchased on your NAC?

  • My car supports NAC system but with factory HD 10" widescreen. In my case I changed the system from RCC to NAC but left 7 inch SD screen (DGT7CFF). For Smeg you need to create a cable to connect to NAC. Regarding protocols - if my NAC works well with Peugeot, I think it should work for you too.

What is the PSA number that you purchased on your NAC?

    The number - 9839633280, NAC EUR 19W4, W4_B4DAB_HW19

How many bits of color did you configure the display for? I think it was menu 2129 through the PSA-Arduino-NAC.exe

I setup it as it was in my RCC config - 18 bits. Also I tried different variants but it does not change anything. As I mentioned before - the issue only in CarPlay present.

For me, the touch buttons do not work in this experimental setup. I can't switch to navigation for example or media player, but I'm not sure if the problem is that I'm using emulation. The touch screen works normally.

Try to use three fingers touch to open navigation menu. It works for me as well.
And touch buttons can be configured with PyPSADiag using FMUX configuration. Also this configuration is present in *.cal files. In any case you can experiment with FMUX configuration and try to find what suits you.
